Im 5′10 and I dont always enjoy being tall. Im taller than almost all of my friends and also some of the guys at school! I hate when people meet me and say wow youre really tall! It makes me fell less confident. Im also not confident about wearining heels.
From what I have learned we should be glad we are tall! We can wear clothes that don’t look good on other people and many people would love to have our height! When someone points out your height be happy that you are unique and stand out but remember that youre not the only tall person.

What a wonderful site, found this as I was looking for clothes on line, very helpful. Wanted to comment on Kiana’s entry, hope you’re still looking at this site and maybe this will help you. I have always been tall, 6′, hit my max in high school and it was a small town so naturally I was the tallest girl. Add to this red hair and freckles, and I can tell you my self esteem was horrible. I was depressed all the time and used to cry myself to sleep because I was so different. Then one night I had a dream that God spoke to me and told me the only way he could make me smaller was to put me in a wheel chair. I am not a religous person, nor am I crazy. Do I believe God spoke to me? I don’t know, (I wish I was that special), but what I do know is that it helped me to accept the one thing I could not change and gave me some perspective on what is important. I am 47 now and on occasion I wish I wasn’t as tall as I am, mostly when I have to shop, and I would probably hate that still if I were short. What I can tell you is that had I known in my 20’s what power I had being tall and a red head, wow… not sure what I would have done but the options were there, just to naive to see them (probably a good thing). My point is, make the most of what you have, because whether you know it or not, you have it all! : )

I’m 5ft11 and have size 11 feet (I think that’s a size 13 in the USA?) .. what a mission my life is – just trying to get dressed in the morning!! (well, kind of .. you get my point! lol)

Stupid comments aside and people preconceptions about tall girls, the worst thing has to be clothes and shoe shopping.. Blogs like this one and the amazona blog help heaps telling us where to go and http://www.tallwomen.org is a great resoource for us to know where to shop… Shoes wise I tend to either try and ship from Zappos (difficult if you’re based in Europe) or some smaller stores here in in the UK like: http://www.amazonastyle.com

for jeans it has to be either custom made (not always a great fit!) or gap ..especially those you can let down the hem! lol

Tall is All is a great new resource for those of us "tallies" looking to find clothing that actually fits... They make it pretty easy to find your size.... just plug in what your looking for (what inseam you need, your waist, your shirt size... anything) and you'll get a nice list of brands that would work for you Check them out!

My friend and I have just compiled a database of tall-friendly clothing stores. Our listing covers pants, shirts, swimsuits, maternity clothes, PJs, and shoes. You can find out database at: http://marfan.org/teenspace/ . Look for the fashion link (it includes tips for women and men). It’s hard having a 37″ inseam, as you ladies all know! I especially had a hard time with my pregnancy, because many of the stores that carry my inseam in regular pants don’t do the same for maternity clothes (didn’t you all know tall women never get pregnant?!). So, hope this helps some of you!

Jheri, that is all good to know. The next thing I want to know is how to get to a size 0! Ha. I was thinner when I was younger, but the older I get…well, I don’t want to talk about it! I bet you do have a time. Most places that sell clothes think anyone that is a size 0 is 5′0″ tall. (I am also glad that you are better at converting inches to centimeters than I am. I think that is about 152 cm.)
