Grace was rescued from the Slaton Pound September 10th, 2008. She was a couple hours from being euthanized. She was taken to AMC where all blood test came back negative. Her estimated age was 7-9 months of age and she weighed 26 lbs. She was almost dead from dehydration and starvation..She has given me quite an adventure. She loves to run, play with the other dogs and cats. She has destroyed several garden hoses, plants, and socks. Yes anything she can fit into her mouth will be destroyed, but she is calming down somewhat and is such a joy to be around. Her intelligence is high and she bounces with enthusiasm at all times with excitement. She is a joy and a wonderful blessing in my life. In my eyes she is magnificent.
A very special thank you to Sawyer Lewis who told me about Grace. Sawyer found Grace and Raider, another rescue with Grace, when she was working undercover with News Channel 11 investigating the Slaton Facility. Thank you also to Marvel who was with me when I rescued Grace. The same day she rescued Raider, the Black Lab. Happy ending for all.
Melodie Welch

Yes, I am also thankful to Marvel, Melodie, and Sawyer, and a special thank you to Sallie of Morris Safe House. I was the lucky person that was chosen to have Raider come live with me. He is the most amazing dog, and to think he was to be put down. I would cry right now thinking of it, but can’t, Raider is laying right by me and he gets very upset when he knows I’m sad, so me and him and my other lovely Lab, have made a pack….NO MORE SADNESS….EVER!!! between the three of us, we will survive. God bless all of you for helping those that need it.
