Why Won’t They Take My Coupon?

Several people have asked me this lately.  First, I want to assure you that Market Street & United will take Internet printed coupons!  They actually have a link on their website to print them.  See for yourself  HERE (Go to the lower bottom right of the screen).  I went to the Market Street on 50th & Indiana yesterday (Big mistake, they were so busy!) and they took 9 Internet printed coupons that I printed from their website without one problem.  If anyone at United or Market Street ever tells you this, they are not being truthful, so ask for a manager!  Probably it is a grumpy cashier just being difficult.  Also ask them why they would bother to put them on their site if they will not take them.  If there had been a problem, I would done this yesterday, because it was a big factor on whether I would have bought those products or not.  This does not bother me in the least to do this.  I look at it as if they published their sale paper saying an item was on sale and refusing to sell it to me for that price.   Then I went to the Market Street on 98th & Quaker and used 3 Internet printed coupons just to make sure, although I have used them there before.

On the few times one of my coupons was refused, it was my fault.  I had either gotten a size that was not covered by the coupon, not noticed that my coupon was expired (oops), or I just picked up the wrong item.

Other stores that will take Internet printed coupons are Lowe’s Marketplace, Target, CVS, Walgreen’s, Sutherland’s, Dollar General, & Family Dollar.  Probably there are more.  The only places that I know that do not take any kind of coupons are Sam’s, Dollar Tree, and I’ve been told by an employee of Drug Emporium that they won’t take Internet coupons, but I am thinking about going back and re-trying that one.

Create Your Own Password

I can set it for you if you email me your user name and what you want it to be.

If not, just log in where it says “Login or Register” in almost every page at the top right corner area, instead of at the comments.  Once you log in there with the generated password, it asks you if you want to change it.  Click right there on “Change your password”, and enter the new one twice!  You can just close that window, because your original window should still be open.  Then, make your comment to enter to win!

Any trouble, just email me at kathy@write2us.net  Thanks!

How Did Beki Make Money at Walgreen’s?

bekiwags1

bekipeppers 006bekiwags2

I just had to show my friend how to MAKE money.   Friday she had printed hercoupons from the links on my Walgreen’s Coupon Matchup from last Wednesday.  You can click on the pictures to the left to enlarge. Here is what we did:

At 34th & Indiana she bought:

Emergen-C vitamins $3.49

Oral B Toothbrush    $3.00

Halls Cough Drops    $1.00

Chapstick                      $2.99

Vaseline Lotion         $6.99

Theraflu Nighttime    $4.00

Theraflu Daytime         $4.00

A total of $25.47

She used coupons for:

Walgreen’s Theraflu $2

Walgreen’s Theraflu $2

Printed Vaseline Coupon $1.50

Printed Theraflu Coupon $2

Printed Theraflu Coupon  $2

Oral B Coupon from paper $2

Printed Chapstick Coupon  $1

For a Total of $12.50 off

And with tax, paid only $13.42 with her debit card.

Then, look what she got back!  Walgreen’s gift certificates (Register Rewards) of $18.50 Plus $3 cash because one of the register rewards did not print out.  A total of $21.50.  She made $8.08 after getting all that stuff free!

Then we went to 50th & Slide and she got:

Another Vaseline lotion $6.99

Dentek Floss Picks            $2.00

Total of $8.99

She used coupons for:

Vaseline Lotion $1.50

Dentek Floss Picks $1.00

Total Coupons for $2.50

And after tax paid $7.03 with her debit card.

And look what she got back!  The register rewards did not print there either, so they gave her a gift card for $9!  She made $1.97 after getting all that stuff free!  A total of $10.05 over what she even spent.  There are weeks when this works at CVS better than Walgreen’s.  Just depends on the coupons and the sales.

If you don’t already know how to do this, and would like to go with me sometime, send me an email and we’ll make arrangements to meet.  It’s fun!

Create Your Own Password

First of all, I want to apologize for the awful passwords that this software I use generates.  They act like they are protecting your bank account or something.  Coupons and all reading material can be accessed without even being registered, but for the comments, you must be logged in.  This is only so we have the correct information to notify winners of the contest.  You can set your own password to something easy to remember, and below is the easiest way I’ve found.  It is a one-time only thing:  And anyone having any trouble, email me at kathy@write2us.net and I’ll be glad to help.   PRINT THIS (After it opens, use your browser “print” button.) If you already have your long ugly password, start on number 5.

  1. Almost every page in the almost top right hand corner, is a teal-colored square that says, “Register or Login” Click on that.
  2. If you are just registering you’ll enter a user name and email.  If you forgot your password, it will ask for your email.  After you give it the info, use your “back” button a couple of times back to the login form.
  3. Open a new window for your email, and click the link.  It will email you that awful password.
  4. Just close that window, because you still will have the one with the login form open.
  5. Highlight the awful password in your email, right click and choose “copy”.
  6. Go to the login form, and right click in the “password” spot and choose “paste”
  7. Then fill in your user name and click “Remember me” and Login
  8. There should be a pink thing at the top with a link. Click “yes, take me to profile page”
  9. At the bottom of the screen, type YOUR new password (whatever you want) 2 times where it asks for them.  You can also fill out other “profile” info here, if you wish (not required)
  10. You can either click “visit site” at the top left of the screen, or go back to your email and reclick the link to wherever you wanted to go on the site.

After this, all you have to do to Login is enter your new password, whatever it may be.

Also, you can email me at kathy@write2us.net and tell me what you want your password to me, and I will put it in for you, if you give me your username.

Again, sorry for the hassle.  I use this software because it was CHEAP.  And it is a pretty good deal for what it costs.  Maybe someday they’ll upgrade this part of it.

How Do We Save Hundreds?

These are just some United receipts I had around.  (You can click on them to enlarge them).  We rarely ever pay full price for anything.  It involves a new way of looking at shopping.  I make usually at least one trip per week to United, Walgreen’s, CVS, and sometimes Target.   We watch for things we will use that are on sale, of course, but try especially hard to find a coupon to go with that item while it is on sale, which isn’t usually too hard, because when a manufacturer is promoting a product, they put out coupons for it, and incentives for the stores to put it on sale.  It will never be any cheaper than that!

Then we get as many coupons as we can by swapping with friends, using different computers, and buying an extra Sunday paper if there are some good coupons we use in there.  When you have the opportunity to clip or print a coupon for an item you or someone else you know uses, do it and save it, because it is more than likely about to be on sale somewhere.  THEN–buy as many of those items as you have coupons for and stock up!  It is really that simple.  Then you don’t run out and have to buy one for full price.  A great example:  A few weeks ago United had SoftSoap hand soap on sale for 99 cents.  I rounded up 6 coupons that week for $1 off each. I have hand soap for a long time for FREE!  This is not just luck. It happens quite often.  There will be another sale and coupons for the item before your “stockpile” runs out.  Another example:  Kraft dressing usually runs $1.79 at United.  I found a coupon for $1.50 off each and managed to print 6!  The next week, United put it on sale 2 for $3, and I got 6 bottles of dressing for FREE!  Even more often, Walgreen’s and CVS have sales like that.  Just a couple of weeks ago, I got two Dow Scrubbing Bubbles shower cleaners for FREE at Walgreen’s.  And a month or so ago, Soliel Razors with 6 cartridges were on sale at CVS for $2.99.  I printed 4 coupons for $2 off each, and ended up with 24 cartridges and 4 handles for $4 or about 17 cents per cartridge.  And these are nice 4 blade cartridges with a moisturizing strip.

The list goes on and on.  I can’t tell you how great it feels at the checkout line when the register rings up at $60 and you hand them $30 in coupons and it cuts the bill in half!  It is almost addicting!  It is kind of a lot of trouble to have to find the coupons very soon after the sales start, but that is one of the things we are already doing, so we thought we’d share.  It is win-win for everyone.  The manufacturers want to sell you their product, and the stores want your business. (And they get reimbursed for the coupons).  And if it is timed right, you can get free or very inexpensive products that are the name brands you like.

How to Save BIG With Coupons

Here is a great example of how to save with coupons.  Find smaller sizes on sale and use more coupons!   See the COUPONS!

There are lots of great coupons like these out there.  Print them and keep them for a sale.  We will let you know when the coupons and sales are going on, so you can save the most money without having to do all the research and work.  We’ll do that for you, so be sure and check back.  Below is another example of how to get the name brand items much cheaper than the generics.
